The College of Science is the pacesetter of academic excellence in the Philippines today - the acknowledged national center of excellence for advanced education and research in the basic and applied sciences and mathematics. In the 1st semester, SY 2010-2011, the College employs 149 full-time PhD faculty members to train and guide 1,650 BS, 35 MA, 595 MS and 182 PhD students. The College produced a total of 337 PhD, 1,233 MS and 6,165 BS graduates between June 1984 and April 2010. The College manages the National Science Complex that was first established by President Macapagal-Arroyo on 8 December 2006 via Executive Order No. 583.
